Located in Columbia, Maryland, our campus offers four technical career fields for the student to choose from, all of which are considered essential jobs. The State of Maryland projects that the job demand for automotive technicians will exceed 12,000 open positions between 2020 and 2030¹, and more than 22,000 electrical technicians in the same time span². Additionally, a 12% increase in job demand for medical assistants is projected to continue until at least 2030⁵.

Training Programs

• Automotive Service Technology – Our automotive program readies the graduate with the knowledge and shop experience needed to join the industry as a competent entry-level mechanic.
• Electrical and Electronic Systems Technology – Our program trains students in the installation, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of commercial and residential entertainment, security, monitoring, and telecommunications systems. The program also prepares students on the essential skills and knowledge needed to qualify as entry-level residential electrician’s apprentice.
• HVAC Technology (Air Conditioning, Refrigeration, and Heating Systems Technology) – The District of Columbia ranks highest in the country for average HVAC pay rates, and the Washington-Arlington-Alexandria, DC-VA-MD-WV region ranks 8th highest employment levels among all metropolitan areas in the United States, making it a great place to start an HVAC career⁴.
• Medical Assistant – The health sciences field is expecting a bright outlook for medical assistants in Maryland, as the state projects more than 22,000 job openings by 2030⁵.
• Welding & Metal Fabrication Technology – Maryland Predicts 8% growth in demand for Welding Technicians by 2030³.

Specialized Training Partnerships

Some of the finest manufacturers in the world partner with Lincoln Tech to train their next generation of technicians.
	Columbia automotive students may learn about Audi-specific technology through an Audi-developed independent learning module.
	For EEST program graduates, our partnership with Johnson Controls provides specialized training in their proprietary technology. Qualified EEST graduates can then apply for advanced training at the Johnson Controls Academy at Lincoln Tech’s Columbia, MD campus.
	The Lincoln Tech & Mazda partnership provides technician training on Mazda models and proprietary technology through a Mazda-developed independent learning modules. These courses enhance the technicians’ familiarity with Mazda-specific servicing, maintenance and roadside assistance skills.
Also available to graduates of our Columbia automotive program is the opportunity to apply for specialized training in manufacturer-specific technology. These programs are offered at various Lincoln Tech campuses across the country. 	Additionally, qualified graduates of our HVAC program can also continue their training by applying for the specialized Hussmann partnership program, which can lead to excellent career opportunities. Hussmann’s TechX facility is located at the Grand Prairie, TX campus.
