Lincoln Tech’s auto mechanic school in Mahwah, NJ features 16 fully functioning bays and rotator lifts, plus drive-in classrooms. Students have access to more than 20 cars on-site, including hybrid vehicles, for hands-on practice on engines, fuel and emission systems, drivability diagnostics, transmissions and a lot more. The New Jersey/New York Metropolitan area features the highest employment level in Automotive Service Technicians and Mechanics in the United States1. Automotive Training Partnerships
Along with Lincoln Tech’s excellent Automotive Service Technology program, the Mahwah campus is home to three excellent automotive training partnerships, each of them being focused on a specific make’s technology. Completed successfully, these programs provide the graduate with a qualifying advantage when interviewing for positions with the partnership brand.
BMW – BMW’s training partnership with Lincoln Tech starts with brand fundamentals and then braking systems, electrical and chassis technology and drivetrain Integration workshops.
Chrysler - As part of its commitment to quality service, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and Lincoln Tech offer the specialized MOPAR CAP program. This training curriculum has been designed to give Automotive Service Technology students additional skills that can prepare them for careers with Chrysler family of vehicles.
Volkswagen - The Volkswagen Education Partnership is a brand-specific training component that allows Automotive Service Technology students to develop hands-on experience working on VW vehicles. The program also gives students the opportunity to get connected to local VW dealerships through VW exclusive career fairs on campus.
These training programs give area dealerships first choice at hiring top graduates who have trained on their specific technologies, which can mean promising career opportunities for graduates.
Skills Acquired at our Mahwah, NJ Auto Mechanic School
- Rebuild an engine, flush a brake line, and troubleshoot on-board computers.
- Diagnose and repair transmissions and drive train components.
- Repair A/C and heating systems, power windows, doors, and seats.
- Perform basic maintenance, including oil changes, tune-ups, and tire rotations.
- Study theory and application of all electrical and electronic systems.
- Apply mechanical and technical principles to automotive steering, alignment, and suspension systems.

ASE, the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence, tests and certifies professionals for excellence in automotive repair and service.
