“When I see a Lincoln Tech application, it goes on the top of the pile,” says Corporate Technical Director Farzad Makarehchi of Darcars Auto Group in Silver Spring, MD. “I tend to call them first and interview them first. Lincoln Tech provides a great foundation, and I’m getting good, motivated, aggressive employees.”
This year Lincoln Tech was proud to host both the 43rd Annual Skills USA Maryland Culinary Arts State Championship in mid-April and the Audi Twin Cup Challenge in March. Lincoln schools around the country are forming a training partnership with Audi, and the campus was happy to provide space for this technician and service writer competition. Winners of the Twin Cup Challenge went on to compete in the World Finals in Germany.
At the heart of the Columbia campus, of course, are the training programs that help graduates launch careers. Employers throughout the Maryland-Washington D.C. area are projected to add 2,800 Automotive Technicians, more than 1,500 HVAC specialists, and hundreds of electronics professionals, chefs and head cooks over the next seven years** - and with the school placing graduates at a rate better than four out of five, it all adds up to helping students land great jobs in Maryland!
“We have been very pleased with the Lincoln Culinary Institute students who have joined our team over the last 6 months,” says Cynthia Brown, Hiring Manager at Columbia’s Victoria Gastro Pub. “They have great work ethic and have been an excellent fit.”
