On Thursday, January 10th, the Indianapolis campus of Lincoln Tech hosted a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony to celebrate the new look of its Diesel Shop. TMC Transportation transformed the shop by completely remodeling the entire space from floor to ceiling.
The industry’s premier flatbed carrier, TMC is known for its integrity, innovation, highly-trained drivers, impeccably maintained late-model equipment, superior safety record and unwavering dedication to quality and customer service. Although the TMC headquarters is in Des Moines, Iowa, they have a facility in Brownsburg, Indiana, about 30 minutes from Lincoln’s Indy campus. At that location, over half the employees are proud Lincoln Tech grads!
“TMC has been attending Career Fairs at Lincoln for years”, offers Campus President Dan Richins. ”When they saw our facility, they were excited to sponsor space in the shop. This new equipment will prove invaluable in the hands-on training of the next generation of diesel techs. TMC and Lincoln are proud to work together to narrow the skills gap here in Indiana, and across the Midwest.” There is a shortage of highly-trained diesel technicians in the state. Over 8,000 jobs are projected in the next ten years, and Lincoln hopes to fill as many of those positions as possible.
Lincoln Tech is Proud of TMC’s Commitment to Students and Graduates
TMC Transportation’s EVP of Asset Management, Jason Webb, brought the corporate leadership team with him to celebrate the event, as well as the local leadership team from the Brownsburg facility. Lincoln’s President & CEO Scott Shaw and SVP of Campus Operations Steve Buchenot joined the festivities along with Lincoln Tech Diesel students, staff, and faculty. Scott Shaw noted, “Thanks to the great folks at TMC, Indianapolis has a spectacular new shop space for its Diesel program. We are proud to have TMC as a partner. They are an excellent employer who takes great care of its employees. The graduates they hire from Lincoln earn a good wage in a supportive and collaborative environment that enables each one to maximize his or her potential. Thanks TMC for all that you do.”
