Project 150 & Euphoria Institute Help Homeless Teens

Project 150 & Euphoria Institute Help Homeless Teens

There are more than 11,000 homeless students in the Las Vegas valley area – including more than 2,500 high school students.  High school is tough enough without having to worry about where you are going to sleep at night – but a non-profit organization called Project 150 is working to make life just a little easier for these teens.  Recently, Euphoria Institute of Beauty Arts and Sciences was there to help!

One of the most important events in a student’s high school experience is PROM!  And on March 12, 2016 Euphoria Institute and Project 150 teamed up to help homeless high school students get ready for a Prom Night they’ll remember forever.  At Zappo’s Pavilion in downtown Las Vegas these students got to “shop” for prom formal attire at no cost to them. Euphoria Institute students and staff hosted hair and make-up workshops for the students and donated more than 200 vouchers for hair, nails and ma20160312_095031_smallerke-up for their special day later in the spring!

Euphoria Institute has also created a voucher program for these students allowing them to select any service they need on a monthly basis.  The vouchers are distributed through Betty’s Boutique, where monthly they can also select apparel at no cost to them as long as they remain in high school – a great way to help keep the students motivated and attending classes.

“What an incredible event to be a part of,” says Euphoria Institute President Lu Suarez.  “These are exceptional students who deserve every helping hand we can provide.  We are proud of our new partnership with Project 150 and look forward to helping high school students be successful!”

Project 150's Mission

Since December 2011, Project 150 has offered support and services to homeless high school students so they have what they need to continue school and be successful in life.  The group now helps support more than 2,500 in 44 high schools across the valley.

Euphoria Institute’s Las Vegas and Henderson campuses have helped prepare thousands of graduates for careers in the Cosmetology industry around the state of Nevada.  Their new partnership with Project 150 helps cement Euphoria as an integral part of the Las Vegas community!
