Service to Veterans Is Part Of Lincoln Tech History

Lincoln Technical Institute’s original campus opened in 1946 in Newark, NJ as a school where veterans returning from World War II came to train for new careers. Lincoln Tech has expanded since then, now boasting 30 campuses across the country, but its commitment to the nation’s brave military men and women has remained a vital part of the school’s foundation.
Recognizing Lincoln Tech’s dedication to military servicemen and women, as well as their families, Victory Media has named the school to its 2016 list of military-friendly schools. Victory Media is the premier media entity for military personnel transitioning into civilian life, and has recognized Lincoln Tech for service to veterans every year since the list was started in 2009. Inclusion on the list demonstrates Lincoln Tech’s commitment to providing a supportive environment and quality education to the men and women who have served the United States of America.
“My experience at Lincoln [was] an unforgettable one,” says Lavonia Altnor, a veteran and a recent graduate of Lincoln Tech in Atlanta, GA. “I thank [them] all for collectively mentoring me, educating me, and most of all providing me with all the tools needed to go out into the world to start a brand-new career well prepared. To a veteran, simply being recognized and appreciated for our service means the absolute world to us.”
Committed to helping veterans further their education
With a dedicated military admissions team, financial aid specialists and career services representatives, Lincoln Tech offers assistance to veterans at every step of their education. The school’s devoted staff is committed to giving veterans the high-quality education they deserve and to helping translate military experience into professional skills for successful civilian careers. When students are ready to put their new professional skills to the test, Lincoln has resources to help them explore job opportunities. Lincoln Tech campuses partner with local employers to provide positions that are well-suited for veterans rejoining the workforce.
Transitioning to civilian life can be difficult, and transitioning to student life at the same time offers even more challenges. With the resources offered at a military-friendly school like Lincoln Tech, making that transition can be a little easier.
