Holiday Toy Drives and More
As the holidays get closer, Lincoln Tech campuses across the country are doing what they can to spread holiday cheer to those that live nearby. After all, transforming students’ lives and adding value to their communities is part of Lincoln’s mission statement.
Eight Campuses Hold Drives for Those in Need
As in past years, the Denver campus is partnering with Christmas Caravan for Kids (CCFK), a non-profit organization, to host an Open House on Saturday, December 7th. The event brings together CCFK, Mile-Hi Jeep Club and other 4-wheel drive enthusiasts to give back to the community by donating to the USMC’s Toys for Tots campaign. Open to the public, the event offers a kids-zone with a jumpy house, food trucks, and a “Ramp Travel Index” or RTI competition. Santa has also agreed to make a special visit to the campus that day.
East Windsor, CT
The East Windsor campus is holding a toy drive for the CT organization “We Are the Children” from December 2nd – 13th.
Lincoln’s Marietta campus is also participating in Toys for Tots. They are collecting unwrapped gifts for boys and girls ages 3-12 up until December 15th.
Melrose Park, IL
The Melrose Park campus is collecting new, unopened toys through December 20th. Once collected, Santa and the campus’s Director of Admissions will deliver the toys to WGN-TV in Chicago in one of their Lincoln Tech trucks.
Wow, Toys for Tots is certainly popular this year. The Paramus NJ campus is also participating.
The Shelton campus is getting everyone ready for the cold weather with a “Winter Collection” Scarf, Hat, Socks, and Glove Drive. Donations will be delivered to Bridgeport Rescue Mission and Spooner House of Shelton.
The Somerville campus is also holding a toy drive. Campus ambassadors will be collecting new toys, clothes and books for kids that are in need. Some of the collected gifts will be handed out to the children of Lincoln Tech students at the campus Christmas party, and the rest of the gifts will be given to a shelter. Throughout the month of December, the campus also has an internal coat rack with donated items for students who need them.
South Plainfield, NJ
The holiday season is notorious for shortages at blood banks. The South Plainfield campus is doing their part by hosting a blood drive on December 10th. And for local kids who are experiencing a toy shortage, the campus is also holding a toy drive.
