Transport Refrigeration Careers Are On The Rise

Every week you walk into the grocery store and see fresh food waiting on the shelves. When you get your flu shot each year, doctors have the vaccination ready to administer. What do these two scenarios have in common? Both the food and medical industries rely heavily on refrigerated transportation to ensure food and medicines remain uncontaminated.  Transport refrigeration careers are essential to keeping these machines running at top efficiency.

Modern food safety wouldn't be possible without transport refrigeration. And the refrigerated transport industry wouldn't be possible without the skilled technicians who repair and maintain its trucks. Start a career you can take pride in by enrolling in a technician program today.

Transport Refrigeration Careers

The refrigerated transport industry needs technicians with the proper skills and training to fix diesel trucks and ensure deliveries continue to run smoothly. In the New York-New Jersey-Pennsylvania area alone, more than 6,200 positions are projected to be available by 2022, according to careeronestop.org. Lincoln Technical Institute's South Plainfield campus offers a Diesel and Truck Technology with Transport Refrigeration program to prepare potential students like you to enter this field with the right tools and hands-on experience you need to succeed.

Using industry-standard tools and equipment, you'll learn to diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical systems on diesel engines, trucks, trailers and mobile refrigeration units.  Much of your training takes place on equipment from Thermo King – a worldwide leader in transport refrigeration equipment!  The campus is located just off Route 287 at the heart of the Northeast Corridor shipping artery, putting you in range of someone of the diesel industry’s most respected employers!

You enjoy working with your hands and fixing engines — why not make a career out of doing what you love? The transport refrigeration industry does important work today, and you can become a part of it by enrolling in Lincoln Tech's Diesel Technician Program.
