East Windsor Students Rebuild a 2007 Mazda RX8 (VIDEOS)

Revamping a 2007 Mazda RX8
Students in the Collision Repair and Refinishing Technology program at Lincoln Tech's East Windsor, Connecticut, campus salvaged an old 2007 Mazda RX8. Under the supervision of instructor Gary Lindsey, those students worked to turn someone else's trash into a treasure of their own.
By taking apart the body of the car, and replacing the doors and front end, the look and feel of the RX8 is instantly updated. The students will use a custom paint job to put the finishing touches on the car. The RX8 has a great design that can still be appreciated, so just giving the car a fresh update will make it road worthy once again and it will certainly turn heads when the Lincoln Tech students are done with it.
Putting the Final Touches on the Mazda RX8
Over the 5 months that Lincoln Tech students spent working on the Mazda RX8, the group obtained all of the new parts they needed to replace the parts that had been damaged on the old vehicle's body. With plenty of time to add the base coat of paint, the students decided to make a counterpart to the Batmobile they had previously completed. The new RX8 will have a Superman theme complete with an airbrushed paint job.
The whole car was painted a vibrant red and the Superman graphic will be painted on the hood. While students use a projector to trace the image, getting the correct shading and highlights requires a lot of artistry. With a new look on the outside of the RX8, this car looks like it's ready for some serious crime fighting.
