Day Ten of Lincoln Tech’s Thirteen Days of Christmas

It’s hard to dig up the perfect gift for a heavy equipment mechanic. Bulldozers don’t come cheap! So we reached out to our Lincoln Tech instructors, who were at a team-building (get it?) exercise at Diggerland, NJ. We wound up getting some great ideas – so great we wanted to share them in our cumulative blog series, the “Thirteen Days of Christmas at Lincoln Tech.”

Quelle surprise in the corporate office when Three French Hens (also known as Cornish Hens) made an appearance. We reached out to our Culinary students at Lincoln Tech, Shelton, CT. They shared a delicious recipe with us, which we’re happy to pass on to you!

No matter what holiday you celebrate this time of year, remember, it’s better to give than to receive. So if you run into a Lincoln Tech student, you’ll know how to make their holidays happy!

On The Tenth Day of Christmas at Lincoln Tech, instructors asked for Timberland Steel Toe Boots …

… and a Welding Helmet, an Immersion Circulator and Sous Vide Cooker, a Snap-On Electronic Torque Wrench, an Ohms Law & DC Circuit Trainer, a Dial Bore Gauge, an Air Impact Gun, a DJI Image Professional Inspire Drone, a Suture Removal Simulator, and a 34 Channel USB Logic Analyzer.

It was unanimous: Timberland Steel Toes topped everyone’s list.  Some other suggested gifts include an Actron PocketScan Plus, a Leatherman Charge ALX multi-tool, Duluth Trading Work Gloves, and an Oxx Coffeeboxx. Everything a heavy equipment technician needs on the job site.

Shift into High Gear with a Career in the Heavy Equipment Industry.

Students who choose Heavy Equipment Mechanic Training at Lincoln Tech will be prepared to pursue entry-level employment opportunities as a heavy equipment technician at equipment dealerships, independent construction companies, equipment rental companies and independent repair shops. Heavy equipment is used in many industries, such as refuse and recycling, road and highway construction, agricultural, forestry, mining, military and more. Getting to know some of the most commonly used pieces of construction equipment is essential to knowing your way around any job site. Even if you don’t need to operate any of the machines in your day-to-day duties, it will help you do your job more effectively.

Heavy Equipment maintenance is a growing field. By 2024, almost 30,000* positions are expected to open across the country.  And both our South Plainfield, NJ and Nashville, TN campuses enjoy close working relationships with employers like Caterpillar and many others.

Help us celebrate the holiday season by checking back in every weekday to read all about “The Thirteen Days of Christmas at Lincoln Tech.”  If building a new career is on your own personal Wish List, reach out to a Lincoln Tech school near you.
