The Nashville campus enjoys a partnership with Caterpillar Inc. that gives graduates an edge starting careers with a worldwide leader.

Since 1910 Caterpillar Inc. has been the global leader in the manufacturing of construction and mining equipment, diesel and natural gas engines, industrial gas turbines and diesel-electric locomotives.*  Caterpillar Inc. employs tens of thousands of people around the world, and seeks out the best-trained, most-qualified technicians for its open positions.  So it’s no surprise that each summer they turn to Lincoln Tech in Nashville to find those candidates!

This year’s “Cat Days” took place July 20-21 at Lincoln Tech’s Nashville campus.  Representatives from 13 Cat dealers visited Lincoln over the two-day event and conducted more than 500 interviews with students nearing completion of their Heavy Equipment Maintenance Technology training.

“We were very excited to welcome Caterpillar back to our campus this year,” says Todd Stokes, Director of Career Services at the Nashville campus. “Caterpillar is one of the world’s premier heavy equipment manufacturers, and we know that opportunities with Caterpillar can enhance the personal and professional lives of our graduates and create long-term career success for them.”

The Caterpillar Corporation recently referred to Lincoln Tech as a “strategic partner school,” which “remains a critical source of talent for service technicians at Cat dealers throughout North America.”  Dealer representatives, such as Philip Welch, Technical Services Manager at Thompson Machinery in Tennessee, see the benefits of the partnership firsthand.

“Through the years, Lincoln Tech has made student education a top priority,” Welch says.  “The heavy equipment program prepares students to hit the ground as entry level Cat service technicians. We hope to hire many students from this Cat Days event, and look forward to a continued partnership for many more years to come.”

In addition to their Heavy Equipment Maintenance Technology program, the Nashville campus offer hands-on training for the careers in the automotive, collision repair, and diesel/truck industries.
